
Task management is now ripe for crossing the chasm and profoundly changing the way work gets done in organizations of every shape and size. Anyone interested in improving productivity should be taking a close look at both AtTask and Asana to better understand which product best fits their organization. The other goal of this article is to introduce two excellent products for work and task management. It is time to create a roadmap for doing so. To succeed in the modern market for enterprise software, I suspect many other companies will follow their example. Both and Splunk have done a masterful job of addressing multiple segments with a hybrid approach.

But when your market has an individual, team, and enterprise components, this means that both your product and your business model must have different ways of addressing each of these segments and of helping customers as they transition from one segment to another. In my view, the business model must match the features of the product and the intended market. I have come to understand why both companies’ strategies are working, as well as why and how they will need to adapt their products and their business models to achieve the largest possible market.
